The classification of pathological gambling

As a result of the examination of 150 patients suffering from pathological gambling (PG) it has been stated that the PG clinical presentation is defined by psychophysical dependence and changed reactivity syndromes, as well as after-effects. These leading, or “pivotal” manifestations determine the nosological integration of the disorder. Proposed is a PG classification, which distinguishes this disorder variants according to the course type, combination with other dependences, age and gender factor, and takes into account the disorder victimity. The classification also enables to individualize assistance to the dependent patients.
